Winter Break Art Classes

On December 29th, we have Samantha Thompson teaching a Native American beaded paw print workshop for artists aged 6 and up. She will share her connection with beadwork and her Potawatomi heritage. Follow along with step-by-step instructions on how to make a beaded creation of your own inspired by traditional Potawatomi designs.

On December 30th, Kera Bjerga will be teaching a workshop titled "Let's Paint a Birch Tree" for ages 10-13. You may ask, "what's so special about birch trees?" They are special for their distinctive peeling bark (often white), and have been used to make canoes and paper. In this class, students will learn how to paint a birch tree using acrylic paint and yarn.

On January 3rd, David Bonchick is teaching how to express joy! This class will focus on abstract expressionism and how to represent our feelings through gesture, color, line, and shape with acrylic paint on boards. Ages 5-10 welcome.

All classes will take place from 9am-12pm at the Bolingbrook Arts Museum, 639 E Boughton Rd, Unit 160, Bolingbrook, IL 60440. Come to the Museum, check out the collection and explore new ways to be creative this winter.
